Reception to Kick Off E3 Cohort
On November 22, 2011, New Directions Career Center played host to a reception welcoming the new participants and mentors to the 3rd Cohort of the E3 program. The E3 program is for women who plan to pursue a post-secondary education that will lead them to a livable wage career field.
The incoming E3 class consisted of 11 participants who will undergo an eight week program to prepare them to be successful students and make a career change. During their time in the program, the participants will receive academic enrichment, monthly support meetings, and placement and career counseling services, as well as financial literacy education and financial counseling. Thanks to the program's sponsors, each participant is also assigned a mentor from the Women's Leadership Council (WLC).

Hayley Savage Hosts Private Reception with Author Gloria Feldt
Haley Gallery owner, Haley Savage, generously hosted a private reception for the sponsors and notable guests of NDCC's Fall Event Gloria Feldt's NO Excuses: 9 Ways Women Can Change How They Think About Power. The afternoon reception was held at the Haley Gallery Prior to Gloria Feldt's speaking engagement at the Hilton Columbus at Easton on October 12, 2011.

Bostwick Scholarship Winner Announced at Annual Meeting and Volunteer Reception
New Directions Career Center held their Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition Reception Tuesday, September 27th at MORPC. The Center's Annual Report was presented showcasing the successes of the agency in the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year and recognizing the support of the many volunteers, sponsors, donors and in-kind contributors. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Anne Bostwick Memorial Scholarship to NDCC graduate Marci Nugent. Ms. Nugent is currently pursuing a degree in Cardiovascular Sonography at Central Ohio Technical College.

Shawn Ireland Show, Key4Women, and Germain Honda Host "A New Season, A New Direction" to Benefit NDCC
It was a beautiful, balmy evening filled with great food, music, a raffle and silent auction, PLUS fabulous words of inspiration and hope from a New Directions Career Center graduate, Lisa Manley! The event, entitled "A New Season, A New Direction" was hosted by Shawn Ireland (of the Shawn Ireland Show "S.I.S.," Key Bank's Key4Women group, and Jessica Germain of Germain Honda).
About 125 people enjoyed the after work party, and all proceeds will benefit women served by NDCC and the S.I.S. Charitable Trust Fund at The Columbus Foundation. Special thanks to the generosity of the great group of women who made this special evening such fun!

Women of Promise Event Exceeds Goals!
The 2011 Women of Promise event was outstanding - exceeding
goals for both attendance and for proceeds generated. Nearly 500 attendees
enjoyed an evening of food, music, outstanding silent and live auctions, and
learning more about New Directions Career Center as this year's Woman of Promise,
Bonnie Phillips, shared her story.
Over $150,000 was raised and will be used to support the career and employment programs to empower women on their journey towards economic independence.
